Page Security Ltd: Not to be Trusted

Thursday 23.09.10

Overnight, someone tried to break into our London store, damaging the door and breaking the glass.  It was not even possible to open the door so as a matter of urgency we went onto Google to find our local locksmith.

We came across Page Security who were friendly, professional and gave us no reason to question their work.

Unfortunately, the day after the work was completed I contacted Banham, where Page Security had obtained our replacement lock to find out that the SRP of our lock was £135 + VAT.  We had been charged £295 + VAT.  Over 200% of the SRP!! We paid £69/hour labour for them to do the job, the £295 was for the lock alone.

On complaining to Page Security, they offered a £69 refund which we negotiated to £80.  They maintained that it is STANDARD PRACTICE for them to charge a 60% mark-up on the RRP of the locks they supply to customers.

MY ADVICE - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PAGE SECURITY.  THEY WILL FIND A WAY OF RIPPING YOU OFF.
